Born From Clay
Clay has always been at the heart of VESSILS®. We started as a family kamado clay shop, presenting customers small ceramic swatches of our glazes and finishes. To honor the craft, we began shaping those swatches into tiny kamados instead, and they quickly became popular.

Saying Yes
A few years later, a restaurant owner asked us a question that changed everything: could these become real, working mini kamados for food presentation? The idea seemed impractical. While the family business said no, VESSILS®, who had grown independent, carrying a New York spirit of innovation and a vision of its own, said yes.
We brought it to life, not just as a product, but as a small symbol of the craftsmanship behind every VESSILS® grill.

Mini Becomes Momodo®
That was Mini, our first generation, and the spark that introduced kamado cooking to a whole new audience. As Mini grew popular, we listened to customer feedback and built a true second generation: a 1:1 miniature replica of our full-size kamados, with a refined heat deflector system and stronger materials.
We named it Momodo®, from the Japanese momo, meaning peach. Momodo®: a little peach grill. It's kamado joy in miniature: approachable and real. We chose a Japanese name deliberately, as a nod to the origins of kamado-style cooking itself, and the Asian tradition we're proud to carry forward.
